The People's Republic of Bangladesh became an independent sovereign state in 1972 after the Bangladesh Liberation War was won. Although, Bangladesh became a sovereign state in 1972 it existed as a nation for many decades and the people had one common cultural trait, the language of bengali. Furthermore, after Pakistan enforced laws prohibiting people in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) from speaking bengali or using bengali and in replacement using urdu a group of young activists fought against Pakistani soldiers to gain the right to use the language again. After the war in 1955 the activists fueled a new revolution ,which ultimately led to the formation of the state in the form of a nation-state ,which excludes all people who don't speak bengali because they are not part of the bengali nation .In conclusion, Bangladesh became a political state to be relieved from cultural acculturation yet, today and in the past the government has forced on the same acculturation laws on the Chittagong Hill Tracts Tribe from fear of separation and from the fear of the loss of unity.
